To learn about diseases we went to a website called cells alive.com. On this website we saw a simulation that let you zoom in and zoom out and see different things. The simulation started out with a pin which is macroscopic and ended with a rhino virus which is sub-microscopic. Also we learned what macroscopic, microscopic, and sub-microscopic are. Macroscopic is too big to see under a microscope. Microscopic can be seen with a microscope. And sub-microscopic is to small to be seen with a microscope.
Also we worked on a disease project. For the project we had to find what was causing a disease outbreak in a school. To do this we went to a website and looked at things like maps, attendance charts, and symptoms reported.
Lastly we did an experiment to see what places had more bacteria than others. To do this we went to a bathroom and collected bacteria from two places. They were the places that we thought had the most bacteria and the least bacteria. Next we put the bacteria in a tray that had food that bacteria eats.
