This week in science class we learned about the respiration process. We learned what parts of your body take part in respiration and what things we breath in and out.
In science class we learned that all the parts of your body take part in respiration. First we breath in oxogen through are mouth which goes into our lungs. Then blood cells take the oxogen and deliver it to the different cells in our body such as skeletal cells, skin cells, and many others. Next those cells give H2O and CO2 to the blood cells which then deliver the H2O and CO2 to the lungs, and finally we breath out the H2O and CO2.
We learned about the different things that take part in the respiration process. They include O2, CO2, H2o, and C6H12O6. Also we learned what these things are. O2 is oxogen, CO2 is carbon dioxide, H2O is water, and C6H12O6 is a carbohydrate. Another thing we learned is what the O,C, and H stand for. O is oxogen, C is carbon, and H is hydrogen. Also we learned that the small number next to the C,O, or H shows how much carbon, oxogen, or hydrogen are in the molecule. For example CO2 has 1 carbon and 2 oxogen. Another thing we learned was which molecules we breath in and out. We breath in O2 and C6H12O6 and breath out H2O and CO2. Finally we learned that if we breath in 6 O2 and 1 C6H12O6 we have to breath out the same amount of hydrogen, oxogen, and carbon. So we would breath out 6 CO2 and 6 H2O.
