This week in science class we learned about cell reproduction. We learned that to reproduce eukaryotic cells split using a process called mitosis. There are 4 phases in mitosis. The first phase is interphase. The next phase is the prophase. Then the metaphase. And the final phase is the anaphase. During these phases many different things happen inside the cell. One of the things that happens is the nucleus divides into 2 nuclei with the same number of DNA chromosomes. The nucleus has to do this so the two new cells will have nucleases. Also the cytoplasm splits. Finally the cell divides into two identical cells.
